Introducing the first newsletter from the weekly frame, a newsletter for designers that uses the 321 format to bring you 3 inspiring designs, 2 interesting reads, and 1 thoughtful question every week straight to your inbox. So without further ado let’s get into it…
3 inspiring designs
Shop
Shop is a lovely app there are many things that I really like about it from the beautiful cards on the home feed, the way the basket sits “under” the app and moves the rest of the content upward, and the little details like the bank card updating to reflect the style of your card with your details on it.
Check it out on Mobbin or download it and have a play around (iOS | Android).
Contrasting popovers
James McDonalds (@JamesM on x.com) is one of my favourite designers on the platform, if you ever want to improve your visual craft then James is someone whose work you should study. He posted these contrasting popovers and they look so good in the interface really drawing the users attention to what the choice they need to make.
Offgrid.inc
Offgrid.inc is the studio site of another amazing designer Fons Mans. I first saw Fons work when he was taking part in a Relume Design Battle on YouTube. Since then, I’ve found his work consistently inspiring. The Offgrid.inc site is a beautiful portfolio that puts the focus on the visuals.

Taste matters
“In a world where AI can replicate knowledge and experience can be hired, taste is what actually sets you apart.” - Carl Barenbrug
You don’t need animation
“The goal is not to animate for animation’s sake, it’s to build great user interfaces. The ones that users will happily use, even on a daily basis. Sometimes this requires animations, but sometimes the best animation is no animation.“ - Emil Kowalski
